WASH Cluster meeting will be held on Thursday 30th September, 2010 at 1100 hrs in LG & RDD, Secretariat Road off Khyber Road, Peshawar.
2. WASH WORKING GROUP-CHARSADDA:
Charsadda meeting is permanently scheduled on Tuesday 10:00 am, TMA Hall, Charsadda.
3. WASH WORKING GROUP- NOWSHERA:
Nowshera meeting is permanently scheduled on Wednesday 09:00 am in TMA Office, Nowshehra.

(Minutes of the 65th WASH Cluster Meeting)
Date: 15 September 2010 – 11:30 Hrs
Venue: LG & RDD, KP, PESHAWAR
The 65th meeting of WASH Cluster KPk (8th WASH Cluster Flood Emergency meeting) was held on 15-09-2010 at 11:30 am in the LG &RDD, Peshawar. The LG & RDD (Mr. Said Rehman, CWC), PHED (Mr. Shaida Muhammad) and WASH CLUSTER COORDINATOR (Mr. Jamal Shah) jointly chaired the Cluster meeting. The meeting was started with recitation from Holy Quran by Mr. Said Rehman. WCC welcomed the participants and following agenda items were taken up. He excused for being late due to attendance in WASH W.G meeting in Nowshera.
TECHNICAL ASPECTS OF WASH RESPONSE:
WASH Cluster Coordinator opened the meeting with a brief overview about different interventions under the WASH response, emphasizing the importance of Government line agencies (TMAs & PHED) mandated for water supply/sanitation and told that 65% to 70% WSS are in public Sector; these WSS are operated & maintained either by TMA’s or PHED and the rest WSS are private/community owned he added.

Impact of flood: A focus on water supply-District Charsadda
Impact of flood: A focus on water supply-District Charsadda-Video Report Published
Water supply becomes severely disrupted during floods. This video report (in two parts) facilitates the understanding of the impact of floods on water supply, at the same time its helps to learn lessons from flood. Arrangements have been made to tanker emergency drinking water supplies to flood affectees in district Charsadda.
Water treatment describes those processes used to make water more acceptable for a desired end-use. The processes involved in treating water for drinking purpose here in Charsadda is In- line chlorination.
The WASH Cluster is committed to reaching the needy in water supply and applies local knowledge to meet challenges in this sector, challenges are absolutely massive. The size of (the area affected by) this flood disaster is equivalent to Austria , Switzerland and Belgium combined.
