The 6th KP WatSan Early Recovery Working Group Meeting was held in LG&RDD Office Peshawar.

The meeting started at 1000 hours with the recitation of the Holy Quran followed by introduction of participants.

The proceedings and action points of the meetings are as under:


 

Action Points: 

  1. Updates
  • For verification and to include the missing partners, the list of active partners to be shared with all partners. The organizations, not included in the list, would simply send their detail of interventions with target area to Abbas.
  • District wise gap analysis and target for early recovery would be shared to sectoral partners, which will enable them to identify and prioritize the interventions and target area.
  • Govt. Focal Person was requested to share DNA report for DWSS updates.
  1. Contingency Plan
  • The Monsoon contingency plan of was shared with forum by Said Rehman. WCC requested the forum to share their detail of sanctioned / available sphere stocks and human resources for expected monsoon caseload.
  1. Water Quality
  • UNICEF shared that HRDS has be engaged for Mass chlorination in ten most affected districts of KP for three months. WCC requested HRDS to coordinate with government and the other partners, working on chlorination of DWSS, were requested to share their target schemes with HRDS to avoid duplication and wastage of resources.
  • ACF was requested to share the finding of its water quality analysis in four union councils in Lower Dir which would be further share with all partners.
  • World Vision shared their findings water quality analysis and focused on the arsenic presence in the water. DCC requested WV to share the detail which would be further tested by another partner for verification.
  1. DEWS Sharing
  • Diarrheal cases are increasing as the weather is going warmer. Although there was high alert reported. 
  1. Information Sharing
  • The achievements of humanitarians regarding rehabilitation/repairing of DWSS would be shared with provincial PHED.
  • The humanitarians were requested insure to keep the provincial officials in loop while working with TMAs or PHED in districts.
  1. A.O.B.
  • Mr. Said Rehman committed that the training on "Hygiene Promotion in Emergency" would be conducted in mid of Jun.

Next WATSAN ER SWG meetings will be tentatively held on Jun 24, 2011, in LG&RDD office. Confirmation Email will be send to all members in the invitation of meetings.
